Anika Christmas

After dark the dogs will
Bark.
Call hark they fall down dead.
Even parents go to bed,
Frightened, senses heightened,
Gripping closer those
Held dear.
I can hear them
Just outside
Knowing there’s no hope.
Lithe shapes dart back and forth beyond the iron line.
Moving, showing signs,
Numbing minds,
Open...
Pacing,
Quickly,
Running
Softly,
Tempted inside,
Undead, inside my head,
Veering left and right,
White.
‘Xcorcised
Yelling, blind, dark inside, World War
Z.

Anika Christmas: "I am a freshman currently attending Mandarin High School. The works that I have supplied are ones in which I hope to spread my ideas and experiences to others that may not listen to my voice, but may heed my words."
