"I am an educator and a watercolor artist. I have Narcolepsy and suffer from lucid dreams caused by my illness. Narcolepsy is an autoimmune condition. I express my dreams in my watercolors. I chose public lands or environmental issues as subjects for my art. Although, I don't have any empirical data to support my opinion, I feel that autoimmune illnesses are increasing due to the chemicals and pollutants. I strongly believe in conservation and preservation of Earth. My mother did pay for some art lessons when I was younger. I am mostly self taught. I paint to relieve the symptoms of my illness and to help alleviate my depression. I have been watercoloring most of my life—for over 30 years."
